3. Not applying the protectant properly. Some carpet cleaners will either under apply or over apply the protectant. Neither are good as under applying does not allow for complete penetration and over applying results in the carpet being stiff.
4. Failure to groom the carpet. For optimal performance the protectant needs to be groomed into the carpet. This ensures deep penetration and contact with all surfaces of the carpet fibers.
